Personal Review :

Windows Media Player - Small light Good for single file play but not good in terms of managing playlist

Winamp - Lots of Option Visualization and programming advanced but on whole unstable

Foobar - Acceptable but sound output quality is poor

Clementine - Good that it fetches music metadata but it could turn into spyware , somewhat the theme seems sticky

JetAudio - Manages playlist Well edits tags and superior audio output hence my favourite in all of them

Any else comment about Foobar would have been somewhat acceptable , but " bad audio quality " is outrageously false and utterly untrue !

Foobar is the Audiophile's choice for their music needs . ;)

I wonder why you say so ....

Completely agree with you, majithia. :)

Bad or low quality audio output for foobar is completely a wrong and false comment.

foobar is extensively working on audio quality to achieve the best and maximum quality possible and because of that, it has been the audiophile choice for many years, becasue of it's exclusive audio processing features and extremely customizable interface and lightweight. ;)

AIMP 3. Lightweight, very well designed, good sound and equalization options, efficient system integration.

Meets my needs, no reason to change at all. ;)

Of course ! :)

But just for mention purposes , Foobar is capable of playing SACD and DVD-A Discs and Formats as well , stereo and multi channel !

And SACD is the highest quality of Audio that is commercially available right now .

Foobar on default sounds very good and when you hear the SACD on foobar , its undoubtedly unmatchable to any other player ! :)

As Nima says , its very light and extremely customizable too .

Foobar was the first player which managed to beat FFDShow's sound on my PC. From then onwards I'm a Foobar user. :)

Most used is -no surprise- Windows Media Player (But not here).
AIMP has the sticky equalizer in front and the internet Radio browser is a find.
But there is 'RadioCent' and 'Streamwriter' and besides, AIMP will not do for playlists like mine.
Another audio player, simple to carry around on a stick is: 'Boom':

Foobar is in a league of its own. For the Equalizer a shortcut can be added, like 'Alt+E' under 'Preferences - Keyboard Shortcuts.

winamp for audio (heavily decrapified though) and MPC for video.

btw, i HATE VLC with a passion(fruit) for a player that can... play anything you throw at it, one would think they would be more than capable of having a user friendly, at least not totally messed up interface, right? well, think again

on.gifWinamp Since 99 FTW :win: 12345 & :beta: since then always.. :fun:

for me! :tooth:

AOL merge  so far! or  yeah AOL sucks...!!

TIA :coolwink: B)

.99 GUi ;)

I use Media player and Power DVD

For maximum quality and performance, I suggest you to use SoX Resampler instead of iZotope, although iZotope is very good in it's own, but SoX is known as the best one for resampling, tell me if you need links or such. ;)

I do need links please..

:o :D

my 2 cents here Clementine show's emotions :dribble: :w00t: <- of a song..! :P \m/

when it comes to listening, i don't care about features. the primary goal is quality!

you want to know whitch of them has the best render engine?

for your tests, don't use computer speakers (bad rendering)

- 1st test: use programs listed above without any kind of customization or addon. don't install dsp or configure the equalizer. compare

- 2nd test: configure the built-in equalizer & compare

i use winamp. occasinally foobar, musicbee & aimp
