Was the protection so big?

No problem. :)

I think there is an issue with their server where the file is hosted on, tried on SO for 3 times to get it fully downloaded.

Hmmm.... Gonna stick with Win7x64 MS defrag. Why?

Never defraged with anything else on this box. Disktrix v4 on first run tells me each drive I own is less that %5 fragemented. Each drive has 2000+ hours with weekly Windows scheduled defrags. Not bad for Windows.

This is a newer box so I am not in situation where I need to squeeze for performance like my old XP boxes.

Irrespective of how much of a fast system you have, the HDD will remain the slowest part of the computer. Windows defrag does do it's work quite well, defragging and putting boot files on top, but defrags like PD, UD, DK are not normal defrags, they are disk optimizers, they arrange the file as per usage and requirements, which leads to faster speed from the system bottleneck called HDD. :)

I defragged my ' C' drive with XenoCoder's portable last night.

Everything went fine without issue.

I was pleased version 4 did the job much faster than 3.

When all this hoopla about malware began, I checked various locations on my PC, and then scanned the drive and the portable with Nod32 ( I don't use hieristics), before rebooting.

The results were nil.

I've never had any issues with any of XenoCoder's uploads.

As far as I'm concerned, the portable is clean and works as it should.

Thanks again, XenoCoder.

Ultimate Defrag 4 does a great job defragmenting your drives, However lack of some options, there is no support for real-time defragmentation, a feature that starts a defrag job automatically in the background

SacredCultivator
Now that this has been updated, people prefer this over PerfectDisk? Since that's my choice at the moment.

Well, people have been preferring it for a looong time. XD

For me, it's just a matter of not having processes running in the background, and the occasional configurable overnight defrag. And if configured to be slightly less perfect in de-fragmenting, no defragger does a better job in as little as time.

That's my two cents. If not UD, then definitely PD, without the 3 .exe's running in real-time.

Well, I disable most apps from the internet anyway, so it really doesn't impact me.

Disktrix.Ultimate.Defrag.v4.0.95.0_KEYGEN-FFF

NFO:

1. Unpack & Install.

2. Run UltimateDefrag once time.

3. Use our keymaker to activate software.

Note: Execute the keygen with administrator rights. This keygen

only write some key into registry and win.ini file.

You must allow (or don't block with your firewall) UD to access

the web. The digital signature must be verified by Windows.

Otherwise, UD works in "Simulation" mode only. This can happen

if you had never used UD before.

With all respect intended, I do not wish to argue. But a HDD optimizer? What does that mean really? When you tell me that it places some files here or some files on certain parts of the disk, I still go back to speed - over all speed of the machine. While the HDD is the slowest part of the machine, we are still talking about fractions of a second when it comes to newer systems as a whole.

In all reality, I run UD on my oldest XP boxes because I am squeezing them for performance. The amount of return I would get running it a my new box is negligable and not worth the effort.

BTW - Does this defrag take into consideration multi-platter drives? In theory, that would make more that one sweet spot on a disk with this data layout strategy. Anyone know this answer?

thank you for the fff fix instead. nothing against xeno but i will not allow anything like that to be calling out not saying its a virus BUT its still doing things imo it shouldnt be. the fff works perfect and registers to your own name even. very nice
