I have used all of those but IMO i like Ultimate Defrag. The other ones I just had a hard time organizing my drive and it often did not archive my photos and rather placed them on the high performance layer of the disk instead of the slow zone.

Technology

Same goes for me, tried each one of them. Didn't like much any of them. Possibly, Perfectdisk was better then other to defragment the disk. I have noticed that given different names and given different agenda to Defragment utility, doesn't make any difference to system performance. It better to use free disk defragment software like Defraggler or Smart Defrag since they also have boot defrag and disk optimizer.

I have used both Diskeeper and PerfectDisk for years and I should say that both of them are extremely powerful and always give me the 100% performance, before that, I was using PerfectDisk, but when there was no crack for the new version, I switched to Diskeeper and very happy with it. ;) ^_^

Not many choices, so can't answer :P

► Well based on the ones that are here.. I'm trying to choose one and these are my options.

▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀

► I'm looking for a program that puts boot files first, then Program Files since my data files are junctioned to another partition.

Personally I find that the free options don't have the features I need and they don't really improve my drive's performance. Few defragment the page file and hiberfil.sys and the MFT, and the few that do leaves my laptop unbootable >.<

► My choice right now is indeed between these two. There is a new keygen on the FP. Don't download the Pro version, because it links to a trial of the plain version. no matter how you try you can't get a trial of the pro version. All the trials are the plain version. Download the trial of the Server edition. It has more features than the Pro version anyway. The keygen has the server option. ;)

► I agree that it is a sound choice. Diskeeper keeps your disk running all the time in the background reducing it's lifespan.

Jwansoft Disk Defrag

► I've never seen this one before. I'm gonna take a snapshot of a VM clone of my 40 GB partition and compare Perfect Disk Server and Jwansoft Disk Defrag to see which does the job faster. I will let you know if it indeed has the fastest algorithm.

Jwansoft Disk Defrag

Algorithm is slower than Perfect Disk Server 12.5. Defragments with left over fragments. Algorithm not optimal. Increased boot time by 15 seconds. Software rejected.

thanks for the suggestion though.

No problem man. I just reinstalled WIN7. WIN8 was to much krap to bear without a touch screen.

Yep.

Apparently the winner here is Perfect Disk Server [not professional]

With the advent of Opti write and Auto Optimization it exceeds Diskeeper Pro.

Here are the links if you need them:

Why don't you link directly to the listing instead. ;)

i don't like the optiwrite and it can damage the hard disk though you got better performance but will cause your hard disk for error!

► In PD Server, just one click on the Stealth Patrol Tab to turn it off.

I'm using Vopt. B) I believe Diskkeeper is the best if you want real-time defrag.

► I've virtualized WIN 7 ULT and Diskkeeper and PD Server seem to have the same instant defrag capabilities. Diskkeeper does not instant defrag into the proper zone. PD does. However, diskkeeper does not instant defrag to a contigous zone, making it faster by a few milliseconds, but less effective. The stealth on both products eliminates these fragments and causes writing continuous data streams, but isn't it better to get it right the first pass.

▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀

I truly believe that he zero filling of empty space on the Server edition makes writing data and streaming faster.

I'm using Defraggler since everything was "said" in defragmentation subject. And it's free. :P
