With so many to choose from, here's a collection of seven weather apps for Android that are definitely worth checking out.

Weather is one of those things you pay attention to during the more extreme climate seasons like summer and winter. You'll want to see if it's going to be cold in the morning when you wake up or really hot in the afternoon so you can dress appropriately for your day. You may find one of these apps suitable by itself, or you can try combining a couple of them to get the most information.

The Weather Channel

One of the most popular weather apps by far. The daily information is excellent in this app because it includes what the temperature feels like, the humidity, and UV index. The hourly forecast is superior to that of other apps, showing you the temperature, precipitation chance, and wind. No artsy line graphs, just numbers to let you know what temperatures to expect.

You'll also find 36-hour and even 10-day forecasts in The Weather Channel's app. Radar maps are nicely marked with respect to the severity of weather conditions. Also, severe alerts are marked on the map with pop-up place pins that make it supereasy to read. Tweets, videos, and first-hand encounters are also included if you just can't get enough info about the weather.

WeatherBug

WeatherBug is more traditionally used as a day-to-day forecast and weather app, but it does have useful features that can help you track hurricanes and other severe weather conditions. The app comes with a built-in alert system for weather warnings issued in your region or even nearby regions. There is also a weather map that displays a playable radar image of the forecast, so you can see where the weather is coming from and the direction it is moving.

This app has one of the best radar features, but doesn't serve up m1Weatheruch detail on individual storms. The radar map, while handy for short-term planning, only has a range of about 40 minutes. Also, the warning system will only alert you if you're actively tracking that region.

GO Weather

GO Weather is a fairly lightweight weather app. It lacks some of the bells and whistles other apps mentioned contain, such as radar and live updating (the servers the app uses update every 30 minutes or so). A weekly forecast is available in the drawer at the bottom of the screen.

What GO Weather lacks in shininess and cool features it makes up in general functionality and convenience. If you need an app that can tell you the temperature and a general forecast, GO Weather is a great option.

AccuWeather for Android

AccuWeather for Android is loaded with forecast information for your convenience. The default page of the app displays the current weather, temperature, wind speed, etc. Also included are the sunrise and sunset times to help you plan your day. An hourly and daily forecast are also available, the latter including additional information on precipitation.

You can also view a short clip of the AccuWeather radar for your area. Last, but not least, video clips of forecast reports from TV can be viewed, if you're interested in what was said about the current weather conditions.

Beautiful Widgets

Beautiful Widgets is more widget and less app, but it provides most of the necessary weather information. All you have to do is set up a widget and then tap on it to get your information. Widgets can be different sizes and display different information--some of them even include the clock, date, or both.

Also worth noting is the extensive skin gallery offered by the app. Many of these are user submissions to the gallery and deliver stunning graphics that you'd expect from a polished interface. Check out the skins by "Vos[tradamus]"; they are hard to beat.

1Weather for Android

1Weather is a newer app than most of the others mentioned. However, it definitely delivers the right info and with a lot of style. The layout of this app is very clean, making it easy to find the info you need with just a glance.

This app will allow you to save multiple locations and display widgets for each location on your Home screens. You'll find the usual info like high/low temperatures (tap on Today for hourly temps), a 7-day forecast, precipitation chances (this screen has a great look), severe weather alerts, and radar. More notably, you'll also find sunrise, sunset, and even moonrise and moonset. If you aren't digging the preset fence background, you can change that in the app, too.

BeWeather

BeWeather reports just about any information concerning the weather that you'd want in a clean, minimalistic style. Standard weather information is available as soon as you open the app. Forecast information, available in daily and hourly format, can be accessed by pressing on the weather information in the app and selecting the appropriate tab in the drawer that opens.

Several weather radars are available for use, with extra radars available if you're a pro user. You can also look at the data from weather stations in surrounding cities. This way, weather reports and warnings relevant to you will be reported a little faster and may save you a headache or two.
